Near the end of the 1930’s, Switzerland wanted to expand their home-based motor industry and encouraged foreign car manufacturers to collaborate with local firms in Switzerland. This resulted in a flourishing coachbuilding industry from which this beautiful 1937 MG SA Keller is a fine example. This car in specific was inspired after 1 of 12 original cars which were imported into Switzerland by J.H. Keller from Sportscar AG of Zurich. The cars were named after Keller who ordered the coachwork to be built by Reinbolt and Christe. To this day very few original MG Keller remain. The full list of cars imported by Keller, their body styles and their sales destinations are shown on the Keller List. The unique car was built to order by the previous owner in 2005 based on a 1937 MG SA Tickfort Tourer (Chassis SA 1804). The car was completely rebuilt from 2005 to 2009 by Peter Redcliff from SVW restorations in Hull, an MG SA specialist. No expenses were spared to completely rebuild the car from top to bottom to match the MG SA Keller type. Currently, the steel/alloy coachwork is in pristine condition. For the restoration to mention some, the ash wood frame was completely remanufactured and all chrome trim parts including bumpers, moldings, emblems and grill were renewed. The six-cylinder 2300cc engine was completely revised and remains original to the MG SA chassis. The engine is coupled to a manual 4-speed transmission which powers the rear-wheels. On May 4, 2009, the car was imported from the UK, approved by the Dutch RDW and put onto Dutch plates. For classic sports car enthusiasts and investors this exceptional roadster offers a rare chance to own something truly special. Each drive is a nostalgic journey to an era of elegance and style. This roadster is a work of art, ready for a new owner who values classic craftsmanship.
